Survey reveals office workers’ hidden entrepreneurial ambitions
Fifty per cent of Britain’s office workers have considered starting their own business, according to new research by PayPoint.net.
The survey also reveals two-thirds of Britons believe running their own business would be more fulfilling than their current job, with online businesses being the most popular avenue for would-be entrepreneurs.
Service and consultancy was the second most popular option (28 per cent) with more traditional ‘bricks and mortar retail’ (seven per cent) and construction (two per cent) the least popular choices.

EBA warns of private sector pay freeze
Entrepreneurs need to consider instigating a pay freeze amongst their staff, warns the Entrepreneurs’ Business Academy (EBA) today.
Bev James, who co-founded the Academy with James Caan of the BBC TV series Dragons’ Den, says: ‘Just like the public sector we have to be able to deliver more for less. Segments of the public sector are taking a pay freeze, both in direct terms and increased pension contributions. As entrepreneurs we need to consider implementing the same measures with our employees.’

New investment and support concept for British entrepreneurs
A new investment and support concept for British entrepreneurs will be launched today by the City of London Corporation.
The project, Innovation Warehouse, is a collaboration between the City Corporation and entrepreneur mentors and investors. It offers budding entrepreneurs services and facilities including communal work spaces and meeting rooms as well as training.
It is hoped the concept will be rolled out across Britain over the next two years.
