Some of Britain’s most inspirational female entrepreneurs were celebrated at the everywoman Awards yesterday, with award winners including Toni Moore, managing director of Adams Moore Solicitors Ltd, Lisa Buckingham, editor of Financial Mail on Sunday and Jo Malone, founder of Jo Malone and presenter of BBC One’s ‘High Street Dreams’.

The eighth annual ceremony applauded women who are playing their part in helping to pull Britain out of recession and acting as inspirational role models for the next generation of aspiring business women.

Toni Moore, MD of Adams Moore Solicitors, won the overall everywoman Award – which recognises the most passionate and dedicated business owner who the judges feel has overcome significant challenges to achieve outstanding business success.

Jo Malone was honoured with the Ambassador Award for inspiring future generations of entrepreneurs, and Lisa Buckingham, editor of Financial Mail, won the Inspire Award, which is awarded to a woman who has changed the landscape for women in business – an honour which has been bestowed in previous years to Jenni Murray of Woman’s Hour, Karren Brady, Dame Stella Rimington and Dame Mary Perkins.

Karen Gill, co-founder of everywoman, said: ‘The Awards are going from strength to strength each year. The standard and number of entries gets higher every year, resulting in an increasingly difficult judging process. This is a testament to the extraordinary contribution of female entrepreneurs to UK plc.’
