An app which finds the nearest public toilet no matter where you are in the world and an app which sends physical photos as a postcard instantly from your phone are just two of the smart-phone apps featured in a new video series launched on FMWF.com today.
The weekly series called ‘The Lady Geek App Show’ has been created by Belinda Parmar, founder of technology consultancy Lady Geek, to showcase the best smart-phone apps for busy modern women.
She decided to create the ‘App Show’ following a study by market research agency YouGov Sixth Sense which showed that more smart-phones were bought by women than by men in the past six months, but twice as many women have still not downloaded a single app.
She says: ‘Women told us they were frustrated with the sheer volume of apps available and struggled to find apps which made a genuine difference to their lives.’

There are more than 11 million smart-phone users in the UK (a growth of 70 per compared to last year) but many of us simply do not have the time to sift through hoards of apps to find the ones that are genuinely useful, she argues.
Lady Geek TV presenter Debs Anne says: ‘A lot of the apps we’re covering and discovering on Lady Geek TV ‘The App Show’ are based on really simple ideas and it’s these simple everyday solutions that are often the best and most life changing.’
