There are four categories, each representing an age group and named after a Greek goddess, with three companies short-listed in each.
Lora Leedham has been shortlisted in the Artemis category, for businesses run by women aged 25 and under. Lora, 23, set up her jewellery company more than three years ago, with a £1,500 loan from the Princes Trust. Her business really took off after she was commissioned to create a necklace for the Duchess of Cornwall, who then wore it on national television.
She now makes between 30 to 100 pieces of jewellery a week, with prices ranging from £30 to thousands of pounds, and employs freelancers to help make up her work.
Says Lora: ‘It was tough getting started as the banks would not take me seriously because I was only 19. But thanks to the loan from the Princes Trust I set up my firm and now business is doing really well, and I have been asked to design jewellery for a high street brand.’
‘Being a finalist is fantastic, it really helps to raise my profile and I am looking forward to seeing where it leads.’
