‘Which wine would be best?’, ‘What could I cook?” and ‘Where should we eat out?’ are just some of the questions comedian Kate Stevens leaves to the smart-phone in this episode of The Lady Geek App Show.
Watch episode 2 (below) to find out what Kate thinks of the smart-phone apps Epicurious, Pair It! and Open Table and whether they do actually solve real problems.
Epicurious is a recipes and shopping list app available for the iPhone and iPad. Food lovers can use it to search for recipes, create interactive shopping lists, and follow step-by-step cooking instructions as they cook.
Pair It! is a food and wine pairing app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Created by wine pairing expert and chef Bruce Riezenman from the Sonoma County Wine Country, it offers practical guidelines and suggestions to match over 180 wine varieties with 1,000 food items.
Open Table allows iPhone users to make free reservations at over 13,000 Open Table-enabled restaurants in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Specify your dining date, desired time and party size to view available tables at nearby restaurants – listed by proximity or plotted on an interactive map.
