Monsoon has admitted that it was overstocked and was left with too many lines going into the sales, but boss Rose Foster is still in the running for a top award.
Foster is among the stock market’s lesser stars who will be celebrated this week when the bosses of small cap companies battle it out for the title of Chief Executive of the Year in the Quoted Company Awards.
These awards, backed by Financial Mail, the London Stock Exchange and accountancy Grant Thornton, are in their second year. They celebrate the achievements of people running quoted companies outside the FTSE 350. As well as Foster, this year’s finalists include Richard Traynor, head of corporate recovery specialist Begbies Traynor and Simon Rigby of Spice Holdings, a provider of services to utility firms.
